The Stone Roses, "Made of Stone"과 1989년

이인성 선생님 홈페이지에 칼럼을 쓰고 원고료로 받은 The Stone Roses의 데뷔 앨범. 20년 만에 remaster된 것으로, 여기에 올린 "Made of Stone"은 8번 트랙이다. 재킷에 실린 John Robb의 평론에 의하면 "음울한 멜랑콜리와 강한 낙관론의 기괴한 혼합, 이 앨범을 관통하는 순수한 조울증, 이것이 로지즈가 최선을 다할 때 보여주는 경지"라고 이 곡을 설명해놓았다. 뭐랄까, 이 곡을 듣고 있으면 가슴 속에서 해일과 화산이 함께 거듭 폭발하고 있었던 89년의 내 사춘기 생각이 나는데, 놀랍게도 이 앨범의 출시가 89년 4월이었다. "1989년 4월에는 모든 것이 가능할 것 같았다.//동유럽은 혁명 중이었고, 폭동의 기미가 돌고 있었으며, 탐욕의 80년대가 끝나가고 있었다."
